Description
Rhinestones were first discovered 800 years ago in the rivers of the Alps. These iridescent stones were later processed, polished, and coated for the first time by Europeans, and today we have a vast heritage of wonderful, unique jewelry, handcrafted from these magnificent stones.
This beautiful hand made brooch is from the 1950s or 1960s processed from several dozen Rheinstones in beautiful colors! The animal motif of this unique brooch is a butterfly, which symbolizes new beginnings and transformation. Beautifully crafted with typical signs of age on the back. From the photos on the back, you can get an idea of the incredible amount of work involved in creating such a masterpiece, where every piece of metal is soldered by hand.
This elegant & unique brooch measures approx. 4,5 x 7 cm and we bought it from a Viennese collector.
